Who we are

We don’t advise from the outside. We own the outcome.

Global Trading Partners was formed in November 2023 to do one thing: build durable consumer product companies and keep them. Every brand under our roof is one we operate day to day — the supplier relationships, the listings, the ad accounts, the freight, the customer email.

That means our incentives are simple. We are not paid a retainer to have an opinion. We make money when the products sell, the margins hold and the customer comes back.

What we run

The whole stack, in‑house.

Nothing here is outsourced to an agency. These are the functions we operate ourselves across every brand we own — which is why a new product can go from sample to storefront without a committee.

01

Sourcing & supplier vetting

Factory shortlisting, sample rounds, tooling and price negotiation. We qualify a supplier before a purchase order exists, not after.

02

Product development

Spec sheets, materials, tolerances and packaging. We iterate on real units in hand until the product survives the way customers actually use it.

03

Brand & creative

Naming, identity, photography, copy and the product pages themselves. One voice per brand, held consistently across every channel.

04

E‑commerce operations

Storefront build and maintenance, catalogue structure, pricing, promotions, checkout and the customer service queue behind it.

05

Performance marketing

Paid social and search, organic content, email and the placement work that builds authority. Measured against contribution margin, not impressions.

06

Logistics & fulfilment

Freight booking, customs paperwork, inbound receiving and the pick‑pack relationships that get an order out the door on time.

07

Quality & compliance

Inspection protocols, certification paperwork and the returns data that tells you which batch went wrong before the reviews do.

08

Data & merchandising

Sell‑through, sell‑in and margin by SKU. What to reorder, what to discontinue and what deserves a second generation.

How we operate

A five‑step operating rhythm.

We start with demand that already exists and a product that is measurably beatable. Not a new habit to teach — a better version of something people are already buying badly.
  • Search and marketplace demand evidence
  • Review mining for the failure the incumbent ignores
  • Landed‑cost model before a sample is ordered
Some categories are faster to buy than to build. We are equally happy to take on an existing brand with real customers or to start clean with our own tooling and identity — whichever gets to a defensible position sooner.
  • Direct, unbrokered conversations with founders
  • Straightforward terms, no earn‑out theatre
  • Brand and customer relationships kept intact
The first ninety days are unglamorous on purpose: clean the catalogue, fix the freight, document the supplier, rebuild the product pages and get reporting to a place where a decision takes an hour instead of a week.
  • Supplier terms and inspection protocol documented
  • Catalogue, pricing and content rebuilt
  • Margin visible at SKU level
Only once the unit economics hold do we push volume. Paid acquisition, organic authority and marketplace presence are added in sequence, each one funded by the last rather than by a raise.
  • Paid tested against contribution margin
  • Editorial and placement work for durable traffic
  • Range extension into adjacent SKUs
We are not building to flip. Cash from one brand funds the next product line, the next inspection trip, the next acquisition. The portfolio is the point — and it is meant to be here in twenty years.
  • Earnings reinvested, not distributed out
  • Shared back office across every brand
  • No fund timeline forcing an exit

Acquisition criteria

What we look for.

We are not trying to buy everything. These four filters decide whether a conversation goes anywhere — and we will tell you inside a week.

01Physical consumer products with repeat demand — not services, not software.
02Direct‑to‑consumer or marketplace, where we own the channel and the customer.
03Lean operations that a small team can run well without heavy headcount.
04A founder who wants the brand kept alive, not stripped for parts.
Why founders talk to us

A buyer who has actually run the thing you built.

Most acquirers of small consumer brands have never packed a pallet or argued with a factory over a tolerance. We have. That changes what the conversation sounds like.

You deal with the owner

No associate, no intermediary, no committee. The person you speak to is the person who decides.

A fast, honest answer

If it is not a fit we say so quickly and tell you why, rather than keeping you warm for a quarter.

The brand stays a brand

We buy to operate. Your customers keep the product they liked and the name on the box does not change.

No fund timeline

There is no limited partner waiting on a return in year five, so there is no pressure to strip costs to make a window.

Every company we own is one I would still want to run if it never got any bigger. That is the test.

Questions

Answers before you ask.

We are a holding company. We own and operate consumer product businesses rather than advising other people who own them. Today that means five online storefronts — GripLux, Innaya, Celestial Projectors, UTV Wholesaler and Soap.Supply — plus a conservation property held as a long-term natural asset. Sourcing, brand work, storefront operations, marketing and logistics for all of them run out of one team.
Yes. We review consumer product companies on an ongoing basis and we are happy to look at anything that fits the four criteria above. We are a private buyer using our own capital, so there is no fund to raise and no investment committee to satisfy before we can give you a real answer.
Within a few business days of your first message, and inside a week for a yes-or-no on fit once we have seen basic numbers. If the answer is no, you will get the reason rather than silence.
Yes, routinely, and we will sign yours rather than insisting on our paper. Nothing you send goes further than the people who need to see it, and we do not shop your business to other buyers.
Not as a standing service line — the operating capacity goes to the brands we own. That said, if there is a genuine partnership on the table (a supply relationship, a distribution agreement, a co-development project) it is worth a conversation.
